Our Sustainability Plan 

We believe in the holistic approach to pets, people, and the planet (the 3Ps!). We are therefore making an effort to understand and measure the impact that our events have on the environment and the community. We have developed a Green Policy to incorporate our holistic values, reduce the negative environmental and social impacts, and increase the positive impacts of our events.  We will share our Green Policy with all our suppliers and major stakeholders:

Venue:  We will communicate their green policy with the venue to reduce energy, water, waste and chemical use.

Suppliers:  We will communicate the green policy to all suppliers to the event.

Transportation:  We encourage the use of Public transit and car pooling for their events.

Carbon footprint:  We will measure the carbon footprint of their annual event in an effort to continuously improve its performance.

Paper:  We use FSC certified paper and encourages all our suppliers, exhibitors, speakers and attendees to have material available electronically.

Catering:  An effort to supply local and organic food and beverages is made at all our events. We will use reusable dishware and cutlery where possible.

Waste:  A consistent effort is made to re-use, reduce, and recycle all materials for the events.

Promotional and on-site materials:  We will make an effort to use recycled and recyclable material, print on paper that is FSC certified, recycled, and use plant based – chemical free inks wherever possible.

Communication and training:  Training on the green policy and objectives will be provided to all Petnerships employees and volunteers, and we will continuously communicate and engage major stakeholders on environmental and social sustainability issues.

Community: Programs are developed to involve the local community in the events.

Our Green Objectives for The 2011 Petnership Holistic Wellness Pet Show 

  Speakers’ materials will be available electronically to attendees.
  Bulk water containers will be installed at the events and reusable cups will be provided.
  Juices will be delivered in bulk containers.
  We will not use polystyrene (Styrofoam) in catering.
  We will use biodegradable bags and containers for catering. The public transit route to the event will be available on the website.
  We will measure the carbon footprint from transportation of Petnerships team and volunteers, exhibitors, speakers, attendees, suppliers.
  Green power will be provided by Bullfrog Power.
  We will communicate the green policy to all suppliers and major stakeholders.
  All printing of promotional material to be on FSC certified and post consumer recycled paper when possible.
Program(s) will be developed to involve the local community in the event.
